Stream Temperature Database Management & Visualization

Long term datasets are rare, so to help with this treasure trove of information was truly a joy.  Forest and fisheries managers can now put this data to work as they identify cold water refugia, take action in the most critically threatened areas, and use their limited resources of time and money in the areas most needed.

We’ve updated the data once again and this year we’ve begun the transition from a paper format Final Report to a Story Map Report.  We put some high-powered data crunching and visualization tools in the hands of our forest and fisheries managers, so cold water loving salmonids (and salmonid lovers) rejoice!

Blue Water GIS has been a great project partner.  Along with their obvious technical abilities, they’ve provided innovative and cost-effective solutions to our data management and presentation challenges.  Perhaps best of all, they’re nice, down-to-earth people who are invariably a pleasure to work with.
